Many believe that the FDA, Congress does not guarantee the safety of prescription drugs, the survey reveals

Over 60% of American adults believe that the FDA and Congress have failed to ensure the safety of prescription drugs, according to a survey Monday by Consumer Reports magazine, published CQ HealthBeat reports. The telephone survey of March 15 to 18 conducted in March, responses from 1026 randomly selected adults. According to the survey, nine out of 10 published the results of all clinical trials and require the FDA, warning signs of the authorities and post-marketing studies of prescription drug safety issues.The survey also found 84% of those surveyed said the FDA should ban the advertising of drugs with safety issues, with 59% strongly agree with the ban; BRBR67% of respondents said they had concerns about the level FDA receives funding from the pharmaceutical industry withLasix visa54% very concerned about the issue; andBRBRSix in 10 respondents said that not participating physicians and scientists with conflicts of interest in FDA Advisory Committee committees.Jim customers - CEO of Consumers Union, which publishes Consumer Reports - said in a declaration, the message was heard from the consumers could not be clearer - they want strong laws to ensure that our drugs are safe and effective as possible (CQ HealthBeat, 16.04).
